Work Experience Onside Law

From 15th August to the 18th August went to London and spent 2 days at Onside Law,

Stayed at Putney Bridge Premier Inn and had fun at the work placement filing anf writing an article for the onside law newsletter.

Then had to leave to get the train back on Wednesday at 7am and my alarm didn't go off until 7am. Went 1st class to Bournemouth and had an interview with Coles Miller, thought I did really well, but obviuosly not

Weymouth CAB

First day at Weymouth CAB on Friday. Good experience small office and 3 interviews all about benefits. The day therefore consisted of sitting on the phone to the authorities.

Working hard at work and doing lots of activities such as cycling to Morrison's and back.

So plan is to do the next 2 days at CAB during the summer and then do 4 days during term time.

Last week went kayaking and caught 1 mackeral and then ate it.

Jersey

Tuesday 28th June

Got the 9am ferry to Jersey. Bit of rough crossing, but empty so quick. Got to Jersey about 1pm found the hotel and managed to check in about 1.30pm.

Went out on and had a walk around and tried to find my bearings. Quite shocked how many shops there is. Walked around the waterfront and found swimming pool, cinema, pizza hut and KFC.

Went to the bus station and brought a 3 day bus pass. Next walked around the bay and caught the ferry to the Elizabeth castle. Very good place, lots to see and walk around and a couple of exhibits to see.

Spent about 1 1/2 there and then walked around to beaumont. Didn;t look that far away but it was. Then went to the shop there and then caught the bus back.



Wednesday 29th June

Had breakfast and caught the bus to gorey and went to the castle of Mount Orgueil Castle. Spent about 2 hours there and it was fun.

Then came back to hotel, had a quick lunch and then caught the bus to the Jersey War Tunnels. It was a good exhibition, but I felt that it was missing something.

Came back again and went to St Bredale Bay and sat on the beach. Next caught the bus to Greve de Lecq on the Blue Explorer route and this meant going down to Cobriere Lighthouse and long st Ouens Bay. Greve De Lecq was nice and then came back on the number nine,

Thursday 30th June

In the morning got the 9am bus to Durrell. Loved Durrelll like the Gorillas and the Lemuras. It was great to walk around in the sun.

Came back about 12 and then caught the bus to Plemont. The beach had caves and waterfall and cafe on the top where I had a crab sandwich.

Then back in the hotel about 4pm and relaxed next to the pool and went on the waterslide and so did some adults.

Walked up to the grandmarche for some dinner and a look around. Came back had dinner and then had some nice sleep

Friday 1st July


Woke up and then had breakfast.

Caught the ferry back, took ages as on the boat for over 5 hours as boat was full and had to go slow.

Having a great time at Butlins. Today slept in till 9.30, had breakfast and then went on a few fairground rides and then walked into minehead and up the big hill the start of the south west coast path. Got a bit lost.

Came back watched the Barney show. Really what people want to go around in barney outfits. Went to the pool on the inflatable obstacle course in which I only completed once. Great fun though.

Then had dinner, went out, first to a comedy show where i treated myself to a slush puppie! Then had take that on in centre stage at the end I was on the dance floor dancing to the song never forget. Then back in reds was the Beatles, didn't know the songs, but good entainment.

At the end of the night I treated myself to a double bacon cheeseburger. I have to have some naughty pleasures.

Great time can't wait to go back again.

Butlins

Couple of weeks off work for Wimbledon. Although not actually at Wimbledon now as they couldn't offer me accomodation.

So on Friday I went to Butlins Minehead for the weekend.

It is fun, watched Bob the Builder Show when I first came. I then walked to the Morrisons as much cheaper than the shops of site. This was followed by dinner. Then the night out consisted of water, singing to Girls Aloud and KMK acts.

I am embarrassed to say that it was great fun and loved it. Although supposed to be a relaxing holiday I have found that I am knackered.

So as writing this on Saturday night after dinner. the day started at 7.30 having an adult swim. Followed by going on all the flumes lots of time, no queues. Went on the cage and felt sick.

Now to go and watch sing along with abba.

Interviews

On Wednesday had to do my first interview of a client at CAB Poole. Emma sat in with me and my first case was debt and sort out wessex water debts. Went ok he went away happy.

Then off to work I go.

When got home from work found out that I had an interview tomorrow at Aldridge and Brownlee. The interview lasted 15 minutes, but seems everyone's did, but honestly I do not think that he liked me, so ok.

But good thing is is that Poole CAB said that they are willing to take me on as a placement student for 3 days a week. So at least I do not have to go to Weymouth CAB.

Now on the way to do some shopping (I know, 1st time for everything) and get Poppy a present as she is sick.

Then off to work I go
